I would be very careful if I were you. Since your dad is a diabetic you are at a greater risk of becoming a diabetic.

I craved sweets from childhood. I ate them whenever I got a chance. My mother and her siblings all had diabetes. I now have type 2 diabetes.

Here are the Risk Factor for type 2 Diabetes:

A person with some or all of the following listed health risk factors may never develope type 2 diabetes. However, the latest medical findings show that the chances of getting type 2 diabetes increases the more health risk factors you have.

1. A family history of diabetes: a parent or sibling who has diabetes.

2. Age over 45.

3. Race or ethnic background: Hispanics, African American, native American and Asians have greater risk than whites, but whites are gaining in this area.

4. Being overweight, with a BMI greater than 2.

5. Hypertension

6. Abnormal cholesterol levels

7. Habitually inactive

8. History of vascular blockage: previous heart attack, stroke or other blood vessel blockages.

Diabetics have a crave that is more than just being hungry. My husband is a diabetic too. He eats a full course meal and still says he is hungry.

Here are the Physical Signs of Diadetes:

1. being very thirsty

2. frequent urination

3. extreme hunger

4. increased fatgue

5. weight loss without trying

6. blurry vision

7. irritability

8. sores that are slow to heal

9. dry, itchy skin

10. tingling or loss of feeling in hands or feet

11. frequent infections, especially yeast infections

I hope this helps. You really need to go to the doctor and get a blood glucose test or let your dad check it for you before breakfast or two hours after a meal. Normal at fasting is : 60 - 120. Anything over that you should really see your doctor. Diabetes is one disease that people should not take lightly, as your dad knows.
