giving up carbohydrates entirely is dangerous for a non diabetic so I wouldnt recomend doing that. further most diets recomend not eating white and refined flour. Thats like tortillas, white rice, white pasta, white bread, mc donalds fries and burgers, soda, candy... etc. Giving up these sorts of things is a good thing for anyone diabetes or not. and doing so is harder than it seems. get rid of all these things and it will make a huge nutritional difference. plus complex carbs take longer to break down so it keeps blood suger levels more balanced. I would still keep some candy or something around tho for the potential diabetic emergency. ex. have oatmeal in the morning or grape nuts or something, a quick brunch small meal salad or something, a tuna sandwich for lunch with whole wheat fibrous bread, a protien bar snack, then some whole wheat pasta with spinach salad for dinner... just an example of a good days eat with lots of good carbs.
