The military will not accept people with chronic illnesses or diseases. They believe that it is too much of a liability.

I suggest you contact a recruiter to find out more specific details. I was once interested in joining the Army but because I'm a type 1 diabetic, I was told that I would be immediately disqualified.

I agree that there isn't much a diabetic cannot do. However, the military has very strict standards and high expectations. I believe that diabetics should at least be offered the chance to serve our country but unfortunately, that is not the case.
