Diabetes(high blood sugar) and hypoglycemia(low blood sugar) can both exhibit the same immediate symptoms because in some ways they are alike. With diabetes, even though the sugar in the blood is high, the cells are not able to use the energy, in hypoglycemia, the blood sugar is low, so again, the cells are not getting enough energy. Similiar immediate symptoms, tiredness, inability to concentrate, blurred vision, dizziness, unconsciousness, cold sweats, chills, faintiness. With low blood sugar, these will disappear when you eat something, but not in diabetes. In diabetes, you may get excessive thirst even though your fluid intake is at or above normal. Additionally, cuts may not heal quickly or at all, you have susceptibility or increased susceptibility to skin infections(pimples, boils) ,nerve damage(pain, numbness, tingling, loss of function) in affected areas, skin ulcers/pressure sores, and of course damage to the internal organs. You need to have your fasting blood glucose tested to determine your condition.
