Why do companies discriminate against people who have diabetes?
---------------------------------------------------
There are lots of companies who discriminate. They foresee lots of illness in the future and lots of time off. Time = money to a company. The insurance companies cringe when they have to cover a diabetic for an employer. That means rates go up. Try getting an individual policy thru an insurance company. You can't! They are considered uninsurable! So to all those that said the companies don't discriminate, you must have wonderful and understanding employers. But there are just as many out there that don't and won't try to understand what a diabetic is and does. They see shortened life span and lots of illness. That simply isn't true. Lots of diabetics live long, healthy lives. Too bad we can open the eyes of everyone.
